Our History
It all started with Thomas Joseph (TJ) Lorem. At eighteen years old, TJ left his native village of Castletown in County Cork. He had no trade or idea of how he was going to support himself. He worked for several years in various jobs, but he found his true calling when in 1919 he started a funeral business to serve the needs of emigrant families.
On the death of TJ in 1954, his three sons, Arthur, Thomas, and Aidan, expanded the family service area by opening additional funeral homes to serve the growing population.
Today, Lorem Funerals is owned and managed by TJ’s great-grandson Patrick. The funeral home proudly serves people from all backgrounds, cultures and religions. Our multi-lingual staff know our communities and the families that live there.
